The perfect F2P start. Part 2: the right heroes and priorities

Based on the video guide by v1ne1c · watch on YouTube (3:06)

The series continues after part 1. Marlena is bought, so the main goal now is the Sanctuary level: the higher it is, the more growth options the game opens and the faster you progress.

1. What a new Sanctuary level needs

Every next level needs three things:

  • resources - they come from all activity in the game and from raids;
  • buildings - certain buildings at the required level;
  • stars - from the Clinic, the Doctor's Path and from killing the starting monsters.

Sanctuary: requirements for the next level

Start with construction: at high levels buildings take a long time. The order is: start a build, and while it runs, level the Clinic, go along the Doctor's Path and finish the daily activity. Make it a habit.

First build the Walls, which protect the city from being destroyed. It is not the most important building, but it is in the Sanctuary requirements.

2. The Clinic and the Doctor's Path

After building, go back to the Clinic and level it all the way.

  • While you are offline, the Clinic saves up Copper Coins (the "Offline Earnings" window). Log in during the day and collect them: the coins are later spent in the Sanctuary Shop.
  • If you lost the Clinic upgrade point on the map, its interface has a button that takes you to it.

Offline Earnings

Stuck on the Sanctuary level? Go along the Doctor's Path. The Tavern opens at the very first stop.

3. Arthur from the Tavern for free

The game practically gives you Arthur, in the author's opinion the best tank in the game:

  • a UR hero is guaranteed within 50 recruits, and the counter resets after a UR hero drops;
  • for Arthur this means 10 of his shards, and 10 shards are exactly what unlocks the hero;
  • duplicate heroes turn into 10 shards.

Tavern: Recruit Heroes, the guarantee counter

So spend your Recruit Tickets in the Tavern right away, do not hoard them. The free recruit refreshes every 3 days.

At this stage the author advised not to touch the Survivor Recruitment tab (the tokens will come in handy for alliance activity), except for one free recruit for the daily quest. In part 3 he reconsiders this: after the updates survivors became useful and should be recruited right away.

4. Universal shards: who gets what

shards where to spend
UR Hero Omni Shard (golden) only Marlena
Arthur's shards to Arthur - only his own, do not spend universal ones on him
SSR Hero Omni Shard (purple) only Claire

5. The main squad and leveling

The author's top squad: Arthur, Marlena, Celia, Bella and Claire. All five are Warriors.

Hero: the hero list

  • Level. First raise all five evenly to level 40. After 40, put a hard focus on Arthur, Marlena and Claire, at least to level 60. The hero level cap depends on the Sanctuary level.
  • Skills. Raise everyone smoothly to level 10, then the same three come first.
  • Stars. Raise the stars as you get shards, otherwise you will not get further along the Doctor's Path.

Later on the Doctor's Path Bella arrives, the third hero of the core. Why exactly these heroes and how their synergy works is covered by the author in a separate heroes guide.

6. Gear Workshop

Along the way the Gear Workshop opens:

  • craft only golden (UR) gear;
  • upgrade purple (SSR) gear to level 10 at most - these are temporary items;
  • the best items go to Arthur and Marlena, then to Claire, Bella and Celia with what is left, until everyone is dressed at least in purple.

Gear Workshop

Result of this part: Arthur is obtained, the core is set, the priorities are clear. Next come the alliance and going out to the map (part 3).
